The Precious Gospel of Jesus Christ

It’s been said that a person’s last words are sometimes, their most important. It makes sense when you consider that the first sound we make as human beings sounds something like “(baby crying)”. Our first intelligible words are usually some variation of “mama or dada” and can hardly be considered life changing.

We tend to have a greater interest in a person’s last. It’s for this reason that wills are incredibly important, because they often contain the final and most significant wishes desires that a person had in life.

Our message this morning has at its centre a reminder that the gospel that was preached to us by Jesus Christ and in which we have believed, is precious.

It is precious because, like a will, the gospel is the final message that God has spoken to all mankind – and this is our first point this morning from Hebrews 1:1-4, that it is a precious message.
